Meeting Minutes 03/01/2012
Reminder on MICS Programming Competition, April 13-14. We have 3 teams right now. Please remember to sign-up on the MICS website personally. Career fair on that Friday. March 8th is the final day for the programming block rate to be used.
We are still trying to get the roboics side of the competition figured out. Dr. Walker said we can use the school’s LEGO Mindstorm sets. Talk to Steve R. if you are interested in helping. More information should be coming soon, or speak to one of the officers. Tuesday at 11:30 in BR161 is the first meeting.
Dustin has a great logo for us to use on the mugs. Ordering will be done soon, $10/mug and will be taking pre-orders. Please talk to Matt if you would like to guarantee a mug.
The Raspberry Pi has finally been released, but they are almost impossible to get in the first batch. Expect more details to come.
Speaker: Dr. Chen lecture will be March 22 at 5:00PM-6:00PM and will cover Graph Compression. This will be a free lecture for all.
Ruby has another idea for a speaker. We are tentatively planning this in March and it will cover quality assurance through software engineering.
Programming Club will be starting up soon. Flyers will be coming soon to be passed out to high schools, colleges, and friends that want to learn programming. This group will be focused on teaching programming outside of classes and can be tailored to what the members want to learn.
April 21st we are tentatively planning a LAN party. Details will be coming out soon.
